At our U.N. Day luncheon on October 28th, Kendra Horn is a distinguished speaker on our Global Goals, Local Leaders panel. Kendra Horn is the Executive Director and founder of Women Lead Oklahoma.
Kendra describes herself as a practical idealist. She — like many of our panelists — believes that “can’t” is a dirty word. Kendra started Women Lead after touring the state on a political campaign. She encountered many strong women who nonetheless felt isolated and disempowered.
Kendra wanted to show women that they can be the catalyst for change. She says, “I want to show them that not only they can but that they already are. Women are so much more powerful than they think. I am striving to show more women the power they already have to make a difference in their communities and world, to create connection, dialogue and action that leads to real changes in their experience in the world.”
Kendra also serves on the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women Advisory Board. She is involved with the NEW Leadership Program, American Legion Girls State, and is a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient. She is the former executive director of Sally’s List, an bipartisan organization that recruits and trains women to run for office.
Kendra’s work aligns with several United Nations Development Goals, such as Gender Equality and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. We are proud to have her on our panel.
Join us on October 28th at 12 pm at Mayflower Congregational Church for our Global Goals, Local Leaders panel and fundraiser. There will be a silent auction and lunch buffet. Tickets are available on Eventbrite and are $20 for adults and $10 for students.
